Mobile App Technology

Blue Cedar Mobile App Security and Blue Cedar Deployment Services, key technology components of the Blue Cedar Platform, can augment other vendors’ mobile device security and app deployment solutions.

Zero-Trust Network Access

Enable zero-trust network access (ZTNA) from mobile apps on managed and unmanaged endpoints by embedding Blue Cedar Connect into apps to enable them to perform app-level trust assessment. Mobile apps with Blue Cedar Connect can assess the trust level of mobile devices by correlating identity and posture information, and use this trust level to dynamically configure network access.

Secure Connectivity

Access corporate data in backend systems protected by a firewall by adding Blue Cedar Connect to mobile apps. Blue Cedar Connect provides secure connectivity from managed and unmanaged devices. With it end users do not need to remember to turn a device-level VPN on and off or use a separate VPN client app. Plus, use of personal apps is not affected.

App Protection

Ensure ongoing app protection without having to perform any further app management by adding Blue Cedar Enforce to mobile apps. Configure static app security policies when embedding Blue Cedar Enforce into an app to get data and intellectual property (IP) protection that remains in effect without ever requiring that app to phone home.

Streamlined Mobile App Deployments

Automate post-development activities that must be performed on mobile apps to get them ready for end users. Expand the capabilities of your CI/CD pipelines by using one or more of Blue Cedar’s Deployment Services, from securely importing apps to adding app security and secure connectivity to pushing apps through distribution channels.

Mobile App Security

Blue Cedar Mobile App Security is ideal for BYOD environments as it provides IT with control over sensitive business information in mobile apps even on devices without mobile device management (MDM) controls. Use it stand alone or to extend the reach of Security Service Edge (SSE) deployments to unmanaged devices. Blue Cedar Mobile App Security consists of Blue Cedar Enforce and Blue Cedar Connect, which can be used together or independently of each other.

Enforce App Protection

Blue Cedar Enforce protects corporate data in mobile apps on managed and unmanaged endpoints by enabling IT with the ability to enforce device-independent file encryption, data loss prevention and local app authentication policies.

Blue Cedar Enforce also assesses the trust levels at mobile apps by correlating identity and posture information. Identity is federated with Azure Active Directory, Ping or the Blue Cedar Platform, and authentication uses OAuth, certificates, or username and password. Collected posture information includes OS version, jailbroken/rooted device detection, and presence of device screen lock. App-level data protection policies can be dynamically modified based on these trust levels.

Connect Securely

Connect Securely

Blue Cedar Connect is an in-app Zero-Trust Access client. Embed Blue Cedar Connect into mobile apps to enable secure network access from unmanaged and managed devices without the need for an additional ZTNA client.

Use it to enable seamless, secure, mobile-optimized access to firewalled data without any need for a separate remote-access client. Unleash its full capabilities by using app-level trust information to create a complete ZTNA solution for the mobile edge. Blue Cedar Connect performs the same trust level assessment as Blue Cedar Enforce does.

Blue Cedar Connect works with existing gateway equipment, including Cisco ASA and Microsoft Tunnel. For new installations, consider the Blue Cedar Connect Gateway.

Deployment Services

Incorporate Blue Cedar Deployment Services in your app release pipelines to streamline the last mile of mobile app deployments. Available services include the ability to securely import apps from Github and Gitlab; enhance apps with Blue Cedar Connect, Blue Cedar Enforce, BlackBerry Dynamics and Microsoft Intune; codesign apps for iOS and Android, and distribute apps through BlackBerry UEM and Microsoft Endpoint Manager. API access enables companies to choose the Blue Cedar Deployment Services to integrate into their CI/CD pipelines.
